Sexual Reproduction- The starfish normally reproduces sexually by a process called free spanning which is when female and male Starfish release their gametes into the water.
Gametes- When reproducing their is always a male and female Starfish (the differences are internally) and the female releases and egg while the male releases sperm through an opening called the gonoduct. The gonad is an organ that the Starfish has two of and it's the organ that produces gametes.
Mitosis- The Starfishes uses mitosis for regeneration. A starfish looses its arm when its predator its around and it's left without a leg. It takes the Starfish around a year to completely regenerate the arm.
Fertilization- Starfish are sometimes in found in groups it's certain that another Starfish's gamete will fertilize the females egg. Male Starfish often stimulate the female by going on top of her and wrapping his arms around her so that she'll release her gamete. (Shown in the video below)

Development Stages-
1. The Egg Stage- This is the first stage which is when the egg becomes a zygote. The Starfish are sometimes help in the Starfish's central disk -which is the main circular part in the center of the Starfish- or in sacs on the Starfish's arm.
2. The Larval stage- This is when the Starfish is still very small and it feeds on Flora and Fauna. They are normally hiding under things such as rocks to avoid being eaten by its predators.
3. The Juvenile Stage- This when the starfish is finally able to come to the top because it's finally big enough. These starfish are smaller than the adult Starfish.
4. This process for the Starfish to reach the juvenile stage takes the Starfish 6 months and they're fully mature at 4-5 years, their lifespan is till around 10 years and the record being 34.

Chromosomes- The Starfish has 36 Diploid and 18 Haploid chromosomes
Parental Care- Starfish don't receive any parental care but the mother and or father sometimes brood. Brooding in Starfish are when the parents lay ontop of their eggs to protect them.
